At the Approved Training Organisation / Approved Training Organization (ATO) of Eskişehir Technical University, Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Department of Flight Training, a four-year undergraduate education is provided following one year of English preparatory education.
The academic education comprises a total of eight semesters. During the first three semesters, academic education mainly focused on general aviation knowledge is delivered. Flight training begins in the fourth semester and is conducted together with theoretical knowledge training.
Since Türkiye accepts the rules of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) as the main reference, training programmes are implemented in accordance with the SHT-FCL and SHY-1 regulations, which are based on these rules and published by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
In accordance with the regulations, the theoretical training required to be at least 750 hours for integrated Airline Transport Pilot Licence training (ATPL Frozen) is implemented as 1,220 hours, and the flight training required to be at least 195 hours is implemented as 227.5 hours.
